NO RETURN ON INVESTMENT. What Is The Economic Impact of Homicides By Gun Violence in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas? By Pastor Kyev Tatum, New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church of Fort Worth, Texas

A Citywide Call To Action to Address Massive Gun Violence in the Black Community of Fort Worth, Texas on Thursday, July 10, 2024 at 11am in the Kirk Franklin Chapel at New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church 2864 Mississippi Avenue Fort Worth, Texas 76104.

This emergency meeting is hosted by the Ministers Justice Coalition of Texas. – “According to data obtained by Texas Impact from the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office there have been over 1,700 gun deaths in Tarrant County since 2018 including suicides, homicides, and accidental shootings. According to the University of Chicago Crime Lab, each homicide cost the average city 1.8 million dollars in services. At least 400 of the deaths in Tarrant County were gun homicides in Fort Worth, TX meaning that the City of Fort Worth and Tarrant County has spent 720 millions dollars on those deaths, with no return on our investment. What kind of financial sense does that make? In my opinion, this is nothing more than the soft bigotry of low expectations at work here.” Kyev Tatum
